ANNOUNCING: VACCINATE ADULTS!

A new immunization and hepatitis B periodical for adult medicine specialists

VACCINATE ADULTS! made its premiere appearance with the delivery of 80,000 copies into the hands of health care professionals who provide medical services for adult patients. This 12-page publication is an abbreviated version of NEEDLE TIPS & the Hepatitis B Coalition News. It contains information about adult immunization issues as well hepatitis B prevention, diagnosis, and treatment and is designed as quick reading for busy adult medicine specialists.

VACCINATE ADULTS! was recently sent to the following health care professionals:

  • 67,000 primary care internal medicine specialists
  • 1,000 infectious disease specialists
  • 3,000 gastroenterologists
  • 3,700 nephrologists
  • 10,000 members of the American Nephrology Nurses Association
  • 800 physician members of the International Society of Travel Medicine

Within a few weeks, VACCINATE ADULTS! will also be mailed to 2,000 sexually transmitted disease clinics across the United States. It is currently available on our web site at www.immunize.org/va/va1-cov.htm

VACCINATE ADULTS! is a new publication of the Immunization Action Coalition and Hepatitis B Coalition. CDC'S ELECTRONIC E-MAIL IMMUNIZATION NEWS SERVICE IS AVAILABLE

If you're not already a subscriber to CDC's Immunization News Service and you want to know what's in the news about immunization, sign up to receive this e-mail news service called "Immmunize-L listserv". This electronic service provides news (Mon-Wed-Fri) from around the world on immunization, vaccines, and vaccine-preventable diseases. To SUBSCRIBE to the Immunize-L listserv, send an e-mail message to "listproc@aspensys.com" with "subscribe immunize-l firstname lastname" in the body of the message. Your first and last names should be substituted for "firstname" and "lastname." If you need assistance, please contact them at immunize@immunization.org

CDC'S NATIONAL IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION HOTLINE WANTS TO RECEIVE YOUR REQUESTS (Hotline services were upgraded in March 1997)

CDC's National Immunization Hotline wants to receive your questions and requests about immunization. You can receive dozens of different immunization print materials, including ACIP statements, Vaccine Information Statements (VISs), immunization guidelines, as well as videos and a multitude of other items. Not sure of all the materials they have available that you might need? Ask them what they have! A "real" person answers the phone to address your questions. The hotline is available to respond to general as well as specific questions about immunization, vaccine administration, and vaccine-preventable diseases. This hotline is for providers as well as consumers and operates from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday, with a voice-mail system available at all other times. To reach the hotline, call 1-800-232-2522 or for Spanish language services call 1-800-232-0233.
