CDC'S NEW DTaP VIS IS NOW AVAILABLE
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a new Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) for
diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccine (DTaP).
The new VIS for DTaP is dated 7/30/01 and is now available on CDC's website and the website of the Immunization Action
Coalition (IAC). Foreign-language translations of this new version are not currently available.

CDC PUBLISHES "PARENTS GUIDE TO CHILDHOOD IMMUNIZATION" ONLINE
Check out the website of CDC's National Immunization Program to obtain a copy of "Parents Guide to Childhood
Immunization," a booklet for parents that contains straight-forward information on vaccine-preventable
diseases. It also includes useful items such as current immunization schedules, information on
vaccine safety and how to report vaccine-related side effects, and a list of
other reliable resources.

NEW TRANSLATIONS OF IMMUNIZATION SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRES NOW ON IAC'S WEBSITE
Visit the website of the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) to obtain new translations of our popular screening
questionnaires for contraindications to vaccinations.
The current version of IAC's "Screening Questionnaire for Child and Teen Immunization" is now available in Turkish.
This questionnaire for parents or guardians to fill out is a screening tool for contraindications and precautions
to vaccine administration. It includes a companion piece in English explaining
why each question is asked.

The "Screening Questionnaire for Adult Immunization" is now available in Chinese and Spanish translation. This one-page
questionnaire for adult patients screens for contraindications and precautions to vaccine

TWO REVISED HEPATITIS EDUCATION MATERIALS ON IAC'S WEBSITE
Be sure to get the most recent copies of IAC's hepatitis education materials
"Hepatitis A & B Vaccines: Be Sure Your Patient Gets the Correct Dose" and
"Be as Sure as You Can Be! Give Babies Hepatitis B Vaccine at Birth."
The hepatitis A and B dosage guide has been updated to include the latest recommended doses and schedules for
administering hepatitis A and B vaccines. The article on giving babies hepatitis B vaccine at birth was written
