NEW: CDC'S INFLUENZA WEB SECTION ADDS MATERIALS FOR THE 2005-06 SEASON
CDC recently added two fact sheets and a Q&A page to its Influenza web
section. Details follow:
FACT SHEETS
(1) The 2-page fact sheet "Key Facts About Influenza Vaccine" was posted on
the Influenza web section on 8/12/05.

NEW: VIS FOR MMR VACCINE NOW AVAILABLE IN VIETNAMESE
Dated 1/15/03, the current VIS for measles-mumps-rubella vaccine (MMR) is
now available on the IAC website in Vietnamese. IAC gratefully acknowledges
the California Department of Health Services for the translation.

UPDATED: TWO REVISED HEPATITIS EDUCATIONAL PIECES AVAILABLE ON THE IAC
WEBSITE
IAC recently revised two of its one-page hepatitis educational pieces:
"Hepatitis B Facts: Testing and Vaccination" and "Hepatitis A, B, and C:
Learn the Differences."
(1) Intended for health professionals, "Hepatitis B Facts: Testing and
Vaccination" was substantively revised. A column indicating who should be
vaccinated was added to the table on serologic testing, and a paragraph on
managing chronic hepatitis B virus infection was added at the conclusion of
the piece.

UPCOMING EVENT: ROSALYNN CARTER AND BETTY BUMPERS TO SPEAK AT THE SIERRA
NEVADA IMMUNIZATION CONFERENCE
Scheduled for September 29, the Sierra Nevada Immunization Conference will
include a lunchtime presentation by former First Lady of the United States
Rosalynn Carter and former First Lady of Arkansas Betty Bumpers. Both work
through Every Child By Two to increase childhood immunization. The
conference is sponsored by the Sierra Nevada Immunization Coalition.
Titled Every Child Is Worth a Shot, the conference is intended for
healthcare providers, school nurses, community officials, and others
committed to prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases. It will be held at
John Ascuaga's Nugget, Sparks, NV. To access the conference brochure, go to:
