Please add your local, state, or national organization's name to the 317
Coalition's letter of general support for immunization funding--the deadline
is next Wednesday, May 19
No government funds have been used to produce
this article.
The 317 Coalition, which advocates for increased funding for the Section 317
immunization program at CDC, and of which IAC is a member, recently put out
an action alert asking organizations to support two group sign-on letters.
One sign-on letter is addressed to Representatives David Obey (D-WI) and Todd
Tiahrt (R-KS), who are, respectively, the chairman and ranking member on the
Labor, HHS, and Education Appropriations subcommittee in the U.S. House of
Representatives. The other letter is addressed to Senators Tom Harkin (D-IA)
and Thad Cochran (R-MS), who are, respectively, the chairman and ranking
member on the Labor, HHS, and Education Appropriations subcommittee of the
U.S. Senate.
Each letter voices the 317 Coalition's unified support for increased funding
for the Section 317 program within CDC, over which these particular
subcommittees have funding jurisdiction. The Section 317 program provides
vaccines for children and teens from working families who do not qualify for
the Vaccines for Children (VFC) federal entitlement program, as well as for
adults who do not otherwise have access to vaccines.
The more support the better, so please respond as soon as possible by
emailing your organization's name (as well as your name) to the 317 Coalition
at 317coalition@cgagroup.com
Only your organization's name will appear on the letter.
Also, please feel free to forward this message to other organizations. This
is a critical step in the process of securing increased federal funds--the
317 Coalition appreciates everyone's hard work and support on this issue!
